Ponderosa Barn is excited to host John Faye and the Caulfields along with a few surprise guests! This event will be an intimate evening of rockin' music, story telling and surprises!
The Caulfields are one of only a handful of Delaware bands to ever sign a major label recording contract. With two albums on A&M Records (Whirligig in 1995 and L in1997) they toured nationally and internationally behind the top-40 modern rock single “Devil’s Diary” and multiple song placements in TV and film.
Lead singer and primary songwriter John Kim Faye was one of the only Asian-Americans to front a major label act during the alternative rock heyday of the 1990’s, and now the Newark-bred musician and author takes you on an autobiographical journey of songs and stories based on his 2023 best-selling memoir
The Yin and The Yang of it All: Rock 'n' Roll Memories from the Cusp, as told by a Mixed-Up, Mixed-Race Kid.
With a super-charged 8-person lineup of this “almost famous” band (including Ritchie Rubini, Sam Musumeci, Brett Talley, Jill Knapp, Matt Casarino, Jim Verdeur, and David Kershner), Faye will shine a light on the Caulfields, but also on the discovery of his voice, his community, and a musical ethnicity that runs far deeper than his Korean/Irish roots.
Since its release, The Yin and The Yang of it All has achieved Amazon Best Seller status in multiple categories and was also recently selected by Philadelphia Magazine as one of ten titles included in their "summer reading" recommendations.
Faye is featured in the Fall 2023 issue of Delaware Today and recently took home five Homey Awards including Song of the Year, Best Pop Song, Best Collaboration, Best Male Solo Artist, and Artist of the Year. Fellow Caulfields Ritchie Rubini and Brett Talley won for Best Drummer and Best Producer, respectively.
The band is committed to supporting children’s music education through Shine A Light and partial proceeds from this show will be donated to SAL. As a special way to kick off the night, Faye will host the “Shine A Light Lightning Round,” which will feature 2-song acoustic performances by Shine A Light alums including Ty Mathis, Samantha Poole, Franciene Hatcher, and Dan White!

On this night, all proceeds will be paid directly to the musicians as well as a portion donated to the Shine A Light Foundation!
